Baseball on the Radio

Baseball and radio have a special connection.  America's pastime has graced the airwaves since August 5, 1921, when Pittsburgh's KDKA aired a game between the Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies.  KDKA still broadcasts Pirates games today, almost a full century later.

Gabby Hartnett and Charley Root broadcast a pregame radio show on WGN before the Cubs' April 14, 1931 season opener.
